Lowering Taxes.
Justin Hughes will prioritize:
Starter homes instead of luxury homes.
Trolleys instead of traffic.
Education instead of Scantrons.
James Nechwedowich knows what his fellow Boise neighbors need:
Affordable housing - The developers are getting rich and we still do not have much in the way of affordable housing for our citizens .
Water- with the increase in housing we have a increase in demand for water, but I haven;t seen a good plan to provide water over the next 20 years and beyond.
Taxes - Taxes keep rising and we need to reverse that trend. We have to look at cutting expenses and reducing the budget needs.
After over 40 years in sales and general management I retired in 2023. My wife and I enjoy camping with the family and taking short trips. We also spend a lot of time with our 4 grand daughters in Boise as they compete in Volleyball, softball, and One is learning to ride horseback. They take up a lot of our time and we enjoy it all. I also signed up and became a volunteer driver for the DAV , helping our local veterans get to their VA appointments and back home. I enjoy giving back to our veterans that have given so much to us.
Now I want to give back to the citizens of Idaho and take their concerns to the legislature floor to make Idaho , Our home a better place for all our citizens.
Justin Hughes traveled all around the country, sifting through cities and states like rocks trying to find a true gem amongst them. After living in Southern California, Illinois, Philadelphia, Portland, and Cincinnati, he finally found the secret treasure of Idaho, where you can feel the freedom in the air.
He was a Principal Ballet Dancer with Ballet Idaho, and danced with them for over a decade before deciding he wanted to continue to serve his community in a different way.
He is now leading the charge to prioritize improving the day to day life of the average citizen in Boise. To that end he will strive to prioritize building affordable starter homes and apartments instead of luxury homes and unaffordable apartments.
He had to drive through the rush hour traffic and get his car towed by picking the wrong space in a lot, so he feels the pain of the population of Boise doubling since he moved here. Therefore he sees the wisdom in upgrading our infrastructure to support this unprecedented and unplanned influx of people by prioritizing trolleys downtown instead of traffic, bringing back the existing trolleys we used to have and making them more functional than our neighboring State’s capitols.
Recently he has learned that one nearby high school had about half of their freshman fail a fourth grade mathematics test. If we do nothing else, we have to prepare our children to inherit the world we built for them. Getting rid of multiple choice tests and the incentive structure which only rewards students passing the test and being pushed into the next grade, even if they can’t read, and instead actually educating them, is our solemn duty to prioritize the future of our great state.
